Skia ora %%First Name%%,

Welcome to the first of our monthly snow newsletters. This summer we update Snowco only when new information about NZ areas and Kiwi Athletes comes to hand. Make sure that you join us on Facebook to be notified of updates.

Labour weekend. Can anyone remember when the weather was good over Labour Weekend? I's the swansong for Whakapapa and Broken River this long weekend but Mother Nature just isn't playing ball. Snow and gale force winds are forecast for Whakapapa's closing weekend. But remember that this weekend we get to trump the weekend weather with an extra day on Monday and what do you know, clear conditions Monday morning, becoming cloudy in the afternoon and light winds. I'll take that. Get yourself up there for some great spring riding on Labour Day. Sunday afternoon and Monday are looking like the best time to head up to Broken River as well. When the weather does clear, don't forget the sunscreen... and Red Bull.

The lucky last event of the season on the Snow Sports Calendar, the Peak2Powderkeg is on this Saturday weather permitting (make sure that you check the snow report for postponements). This multi sport race from the top of Turoa to the bottom of the Mountain Road, and The infamous Powderkeg Restaurant & Bar carpark is a must do on the bucket list! Check out the New Zealand's only complete Snow Sports Calendar for more.

Don't forget there is still another two weeks left of skiing and riding at Turoa, they will be staying open until November 4th with a condensed version of winter!! The Movenpick and Highnoon Express will operate from 10.am - 4.pm. and we will open on the fine weather days only so it is fun for you! There will be a small beginner's area available with limited facilities in the Alpine Meadow; these will be assessed daily due to the warmer weather.

57% of our poll participants said that they would be heading overseas to find some more white stuff this summer. If you're thinking of heading overseas this season make sure that you give Dive Fish Snow a call.

LAST CALL TO VOTE: You choose. Tell us who shone and who stunk. Since 2000 online Snowco has published an independent survey, which asks the public to judge, based upon their experience the level of service that they have received during their visit to a ski or board area. The survey consists of 33 questions relating to the service received from the snow user across 9 departments that make up the front line of a ski and board operation. There are two awards, the NZ Ski Area Service Award for commercial ski areas and, the NZ Small Ski Area Service Award for club operated ski fields. Voting will close when Turoa does.

Whatever you do this summer, get into it and have a blast. Thanks for joining us this winter.
