What an amazing two weeks it's been. Snow to low levels in the south, Snowpark sold and Coronet opening this weekend. AMAZING !!

Well it's opening weekend for the 2013 snow sports season. Coronet Peak opens its doors at 9:00am on Saturday morning with great natural, all over coverage. This topped up with their completely over the top snowmaking system show mean that the pistes are the best ever for opening day. They will be opening all lifts except Rocky Gully. On Saturday we are expecting high cloud to thickenwith rain developing about the headwaters, patchy falls spreading east in the evening. Snow above 1500 metres. Snowpark, after anouncing that it would not be open this season has now sold to the neighbouring vehicle and car testing facility, the Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds. Snow Park won't be open to the public this winter. Southern Hemisphere Proving Grounds are currently assessing what commitments they are able to continue with in regards to events and high performance training.
