Skia ora %%First Name%%,

The NZ University and Ozzy school kids have been enjoying the slopes over the last week. From this weekend NZ kids and families will flock to the slopes for the start of the New Zealand Winter School Holidays. With the holidays comes the school holiday events. The CHILL Grom Fest kicks off for the season at Cheeseman this Saturday. The first of three events, this comp is open to kids ages 6 to 13, from those that want to give it a crack to aspiring athletes who want to emulate the Wells brothers.

The forecast is a game of two halves this weekend with the remnants of the low moving eastwards off the North Island and a new cold front moving onto the south and east of New Zealand giving the low some invigorated energy. The Chatham’s are in for a blast. What this means is the best riding will be in the South on the Saturday. If you're at Ruapehu check the conditions out early on Saturday that will be your best bet for the weekend. Check out the snow-forecast.com forecast below and click through to the website for more info.

So it begins, season '13 - PRO-FILER Briar Peters

Driving south from Ruapehu towards my parent's farm for a cozy night in front of the fire I can barely see the flooded State Highway 1 ahead of me. The rain is pounding down, my music is at level 28 trying to make its presence heard above the drum of the rain, dammit why won't my windscreen wipers go faster? But mostly I'm thinking about the hill, hoping and praying it's snowing up there not raining like this and washing the precious snow we have away. Its been a interesting start to the season with rumours starting to fly around like wild fire all the way back in May; "this is the season we have been waiting for". Read more...

Kingswood Skis

Kingswood Skis is different because we make each pair to order. We like to find out a bit about who you are and how you ski before we decide how stiff or soft your ski should be. We think that’s why we get such good feedback from our customers, many of whom come back again and again. To own a pair of Kingswood Skis is to support New Zealand made, to stand up for quality and to experience skiing in a new and better way. That’s why we always say: Quality hurts only once.
